01| Free Consultation
Every project begins with an email enquiry, completed at your leisure. Alternatively, call for a free phone consultation. If enquiring via email, simply share a few images of your space (optional) and jot down some information about what you would like to achieve. I will then contact you to discuss your query. Once I have the details, I will explain how my organising service can help you.
02 | Home Workbook Questionnaire or Home Visit
So, what does a professional organiser do? I will forward you my exclusive Home Workbook. This consists of a brief online questionnaire, designed to help you consider your space. Alternatively, if you are interested in multiple sessions, I will visit your home to assess your space. I will then create a tailor-made approach that perfectly reflects the way you want your home to function and feel.
03| Product and Storage Recommendations
Based on your Home Workbook answers or my home visit, I research and curate storage solutions that work with your space and needs. I will then provide you with a bespoke list of recommended products for you to browse through and order in time for your session. I make product recommendations based on my experience, in line with your taste and budget.
04 | On The Day – How Does a Decluttering Service Work?
I will walk through your space with you and discuss any items that you wish to keep or discard. I will guide you while respectfully taking your lead and listening to your preferences.
It is important that you are involved in the decluttering process, as I cannot decide what you should or should not keep. To do this, I expect you to work alongside me during the decluttering process.
05 | Transforming Your Space
The next step is the transformation! As soon as the initial declutter is complete, I will work independently, sorting out your items, categorising each and lightly cleaning the area, ready to reorganise your belongings, using the new products where required. Should there be a need to adjust your room’s layout and styling, I will do so accordingly, always leaving your space immaculate!
06 | The Big Reveal!
Next, I’ll present my work, taking you through every element, showing you where all your items are neatly stored and how your new system works. At this stage, you may request any small adjustments necessary and feel free to ask questions, so you feel complete confidence in your new, meticulously organised space.
Pace and Speed
I will always aim to complete tasks in the time allocated and agreed. However, if it takes more time, then I will discuss this with you during the job, and you will be asked whether you prefer to adjust what we can achieve in the timeframe booked or extend the timeframe to enable me to complete all of the work.
Best Advice
My advice on what to declutter and how to organise and store your belongings is done in good faith. I rely on my clients to make the final decision on whether to keep or dispose of a specific item. Sortistry cannot accept responsibility for the consequences of such decisions.
Handling of Goods
I am happy to help you relocate items of furniture within your home as part of the decluttering and organising process if they are light enough to be lifted and moved between us. If not, I will ask you to either enlist a friend or family member to assist, or I will recommend a third-party moving company to help.
Breaks
The process of decluttering and organising can sometimes be tiring and emotionally demanding. For this reason, it’s important to take breaks to rehydrate and pace ourselves. I will build in breaks throughout the day which are included in my fees.
Cleaning and Disposal
As part of my organising service, I often come across areas that are dusty or need vacuuming. I am happy to help you with any light dusting and vacuuming as part of my work, but I am not a professional cleaning service, and therefore, I will not clean your home as part of my service.
I will pack your items for disposal or donation but please kindly book a collection or take your unwanted belongings to your preferred charity/other/rubbish dump.
Handling of Goods
During our work together, I will have to handle your possessions. I will do this with utmost care. However, should an accident occur, I will not be liable for any losses or damage. My insurance covers professional indemnity, public liability and related claims arising from my work. It does not cover accidental damage to your personal property or belongings. I therefore advise my clients to ensure they have adequate home contents insurance in place before we begin working together.
